Imperial Nomad Tours is a local Mongolian tour operator based in Ulaanbaatar. It is two people: Baska, who designs every route and answers every inquiry in writing, and Buya, who leads the trips on the road, together with drivers and nomadic families we have worked with for years. When you write to us, you are talking to the people who will run your trip, not a sales desk.
Much of what is sold abroad as a “Mongolia tour” is resold: an agency takes the booking, adds a margin, and passes the trip to a local operator to run. Booking direct with the operator gets you the same trip with clearer answers, faster changes, and more of the money staying with the drivers, camps, and families who do the work.
Everything on this site is a trip we run ourselves: private, two to six guests, designed around your dates. Read how we work on the about page, or start with the three tours guests choose most.

Are you a travel agency or a tour operator?
A tour operator. We design and run our own tours with our own guide, drivers, and long-standing family partners. The agency-style pieces of a trip, hotel nights in Ulaanbaatar, domestic flights, are arranged as part of your itinerary, not resold as a package from someone else.
How do I know you are legitimate before paying a deposit?
Talk to us first, there is no pressure to pay anything until the route and terms are agreed in writing. You can reach Baska directly on WhatsApp or email, find us on Google Maps in Ulaanbaatar, and ask every question you have. Deposit, balance, and cancellation terms are put in writing before you commit.
Do you take bookings directly from overseas travelers?
Yes, most of our guests book directly from abroad. Inquiries come by WhatsApp, email, or the contact form, and Baska replies personally, in writing, so you have every detail of the trip on record before you travel.
