Private tours in Ulaanbaatar work differently with us: there is no bus, no group to wait for, and no fixed seat times. You get a guide, a driver, and a Land Cruiser to yourselves, we collect you from your hotel, and the day is shaped around what you actually want to see.
Most guests use the capital as a base for the country around it. Gorkhi-Terelj National Park is about an hour east: Turtle Rock, the Ariyabal meditation temple, and the 40 meter Chinggis Khaan statue on the way. West sits Hustai National Park, where takhi, the world's only truly wild horses, come down to the valleys at dusk. The city itself, Sukhbaatar Square, Zaisan Hill, the Chinggis Khaan Museum, fits comfortably into half a day.
These short trips run year round, including winter, and they stack: a day in Terelj becomes two with a night in a ger, or three with the semi-desert dunes and Hustai added. If you are starting a longer itinerary with us, they also make an easy first day while you settle in.

Yes. Every day trip starts and ends at your accommodation in the city. Tell us where you are staying and the Land Cruiser is outside at the agreed time.
Can we see Terelj and the Chinggis Khaan statue in one day?
Comfortably. The statue sits on the road to Terelj, so a single day covers both, with time for Turtle Rock and the walk up to the Ariyabal temple. It is the most booked day trip we run.
Do these tours run in winter?
Yes, year round. Terelj under snow is quieter and arguably more beautiful, and the city's museums fill the colder hours. We adjust the pace and keep the vehicle warm.
