Overview.
This 3-day Semi-Desert and Terelj tour from Ulaanbaatar covers three different landscapes within a single short trip. Day 1 visits Terelj National Park (Turtle Rock, Aryabal Meditation Temple) and the Chinggis Khan equestrian statue at Tsonjin Boldog. Day 2 drives west to Khugnu Khan Nature Reserve and the Bayan Gobi sand dunes, a small desert at the edge of the Khangai mountains, with two-humped Bactrian camels and a nomadic family ger camp for the overnight. Day 3 returns via Hustai National Park, home of the Takhi (Przewalski's horse, the world's only true wild horse), before the final drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Travel is by Toyota Land Cruiser; group size is two to six guests.
